In the frame of Erasmus Plus Programme, the project Social Theater for Community Empowerment is promoted by five organizations members of the Bolognese Network “Teatri Solidali", with the aim of instilling innovation, development and internationalization on the over twenty organizations and theaters composing the network itself. Institution Gian Franco Minguzzi is the project leader; Teatro dell'Argine, Zoè Teatri, Teatro delle Temperie and Entri il Mondo are partners.
The project's aim is to train a group of professionals in order to widen and enhance their skills and capacity of interacting with European organizations, while at the same time exchanging best practices in the field of social theater, their ability to innovate non-formal learning programs, methodologies of community empowerment in the field of social inclusion, managerial and implementation skills to guarantee the sustainability of the network's projects, the ability to ensure that culture addresses a diversified audience and that it is also accessible to marginalized people.

From January 30th to February 3rd 2017 at the Akt-zentInternationales Theaterzentrum, partners discussed issues related to innovation, development and internationalization not only of the respective organizations, but also of the more than twenty organizations and theaters members of the Bolognese network “Teatri Solidali". This workshop focused on fundraising, international networking and theater management.


From April 2nd to 7th 2017 at Transition Network, a four-day structured facilitation training program was held, based on the experience of Transitions Town Totnes, to inspire and empower the group to develop skills to facilitate social innovation. 

From June 19th to 23rd 2017, the workshop with the Finnish company Draamatyö focused on improving the English language, investigating how theater can be a tool for social inclusion and intercultural dialogue and studying methods used in centers for asylum seekers.

From September 11th to 15th 2017 at the FU International Academy center in Tenerife, the partners took part in the Digital Marketing Strategy course organized by SeointheSun. Objectives of the workshop: acquisition of useful techniques to increase the traffic of their website, marketing strategies aimed at enhancing their image and activities, identification of good practices on the use of social media for their institution.

From October 4th to 10th 2017, the job shadowing session with the Finnish company Draamatyö took place: partners had the opportunity to view children's theater shows, visit schools, theaters, museums, explore theater methods as tools for social inclusion and intercultural dialogue and to study their working method.
From February 19th to Wednesday 21th 2018 at Acting Now association, participants took part in a workshop on the use of the techniques of the Theater of the Oppressed, with particular attention to the exercises of the Image Theater and the Theater Forum, to develop dynamics of individual and collective empowerment within social groups.
From Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th March 2018 the mobility at Border Crossings was an opportunity for the partners the to deepen the knowledge on the social theater, identify any critical issues and understand how to achieve maximum potential in their specific work environments.
